On this week's show:
We have back our favorite Fruit Detective, and Gourmet Magazine contributor David Karp on to school us on the many citrus fruits available this winter. Thought you couldn't get your daily dose of fruit in winter? Tune in to learn not only what's fresh, but how to use this vitamin-packed fruits for sweets or savories.
Next we host authors Peter Menzel and Faith D'Aluisio, of the recent must-have book Hungry Planet. Peter and Faith traveled the world keeping a photo diary of several families and what they eat. The book is a keen look into many cultures and what they eat, while being a lesson in our ever-changing global diets.
Also joining us from Texas is Tom Pederson, owner, creator, and one-man-production of Kakawa Cocoa Beans—a whole roasted cocoa bean covered in three decadent layers of chocolate! Then following, live in the studio is Becky Selengut, creator of the new website seasonalcornucopia.com, a terrific resource for any chef or home cook.
Also on the show each week are Food in the News, Recipe and Wine of the Week with Michael Teer of Pike and Western Wine Shop, and What's Your Special, where we call a local chef on the line and get to hear what's cookin', so be sure to tune in and sharpen your knives for another week of Tom and Thierry in the kitchen.
